[3/17/20 THIS LIVE CEREMONY HAS BEEN CANCELED. SEE UPDATED CORONA VIRUS PRECAUTIONS HERE.  MEMBERS ARE ADVISED TO DO THE RITUAL AT HOME. SEE BELOW FOR INSTRUCTIONS]

This ceremony reminds us of how we humans are inseparable from nature, and how our bodies are constructed from the elements. Because it is a symbolic feast, we nibble on carefully chosen bits of food and drink. Afterward, however, we can share our favorite things with each other. Please bring to the social hour something healthy to eat or drink. And desserts can be both organic and healthy! Just saying! [ED NOTE: Social Hour portion of convocation has been canceled]

On this day, the start of Rosicrucian Year 3373 is celebrated, and also, those members who have allied themselves by Initiation into our Pronaos. If you are one of our new Initiates, make sure that you attend this ceremony in Portland as we will be giving you special recognition.

If you cannot get to the pronaos, please conduct the following meditation in private on the Equinox/Full Moon on March 21. You will find instructions on how to do the New Year ritual in your own sanctum in your First Temple Degree downloads page. [See right]NewYear.Meditation.Download

This ceremony is one of four that all members and especially those who are Initiates of the Pronaos must attend if at all possible.

The four mandatory ceremonies are held as near to the Solstices as possible:

New Year’s Ceremony in March
Peace Ceremony in June
Pyramid (Memorial) Ceremony in September
Festival of Lights Ceremony in December

During this ceremony, we will install a new Archivist, and transfer the duties from one frater to another.

The schedule is:

MEMBERS ONLY: 2:00 New Year’s Ritual and officer installation

OPEN TO PUBLIC: 2:45 Social time and recognition of Initiates

OPEN TO PUBLIC: 3:30 Vowel sounds presentation, repeat of January

Members, please arrive 15 minutes early and seat yourself in the library. Observe reverent silence to prepare yourself in the final five minutes before you are called into the “temple.” Dress appropriately and bring your membership credentials and apron. If you do not have an AMORC apron one can be loaned to you. If you are a member in good standing and do not have your credentials, another member can vouch for you, for one time.
