Things Bubble Up at Spiritual Alchemy Workshop

Alchemy.groupA word from Master Anjala about last month’s long-awaited Pacific Northwest Spiritual Alchemy Workshop:

Those who attended the Spiritual Alchemy workshop on November 9th and 10th got lots more than the agenda promised!  From the very first minutes, guest speaker Karen Wark dazzled us with scientific evidence for Oneness, then connected quantum entanglement with the way we are connected to the universe.

She showed us the rebalancing technique, which is taught in the 6th degree, by the way, if you want to research it, and if you attended and weren’t in the 6th degree, you got an advanced technique early!  Frater Clayton had great success with the technique and felt his hands lighting up fiercely with energy.

Video Discussion: The Gnostic Mary, 2 pm, Dec. 15

maria.cropJoin us for the next installment of our new online video discussion group.  This group is live and for members only. If you wish to participate, email us your member number and we will invite you to the event.  You must have a good internet, a laptop with a camera, and a set of headphones with a mic.

In 1617, Michael Maier’s Symbola Aureae Mensae was published with the frontispiece illustration known as Maria Prophetissa. In this illustration, Maria Prophetissa, who may also be known as the Maria of the Gnostic tradition, draws our attention to the alchemical process which appears to be coming to fruition before our eyes. This illustration is robust with alchemical symbolism. For this December’s online discussion group, we will read from an article that examines the symbolism found here in greater detail and learn some of what Maria seeks to impart to us. – Frater Ken, Online Discussion Host

Online Discussion Group: The Mountain of the Adepts, Nov. 17, 2 pm

adept.image. copyNow in our third month, our new online group is a video discussion and meditation for members who are not in the Portland Metro Area.  The session lasts about 40 minutes. We will conduct a meditation, have a lecture and time for sharing and discussion.

This month: The Mountain of the Adepts

In 1616, an alchemical text was published entitled Cabala, Mirror of Art and Nature: in Alchemy whose authorship is attributed to the Tyrollian physician Steffan Michelspacher. The text dealt with alchemical self-transformation in the same vein as the Rosicrucian book, The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreuz, published the same year. This month’s Online Discussion Group will have a reading of an article discussing one of the alchemical illustrations found in this text known as the ‘Mountain of the Adepts’. Many Rosicrucian students may have seen this illustration from time to time, and this session will offer a chance to look deeper at the illustration and engage in discussion about it’s importance to the Great Work.

Please examine and come prepared to discuss this image.

Spiritual Alchemy Workshop With Karen Wark, This Saturday, Nov. 8 & 9

Spiritual-AlchemyThis weekend, at last, is our Spiritual Alchemy Workshop, with visiting Rosicrucian Scholar Karen Wark. There’s still time to get advanced tickets HERE. Or you can get them at the door on Saturday.

This two-day event should not be missed. It will help to sharpen the skills of members of our Order, and it will also be a fascinating window into the Rosicrucian teachings of AMORC for the curious.

We’ve sold about twenty advanced tickets, and we expect a few more to come in before Saturday. We’ve had lots of inquiries about the event from non-members. We should have a healthy mix of local and out of town members and unaffiliated spiritual seekers.

Video Discussion: Alchemy and Johann Joachim’s Oedipus Chimicus, Online, 10/20, 2pm

alchemy.onlinediscussion.crop
This month’s online meditation and discussion group will talk about Johann Joachim Becher’s book called Oedipus Chimicus, published in 1664. The group, led by Frater Ken, will hold a meditation, and then a brief talk on the alchemical symbols and principals from this old treaty on alchemy.

“Becher’s views on chemistry have much in common with standard 17th-century Paracelsian and Helmontian treatments of the subject” such that “sulfur was analogous to earth, and salt to water, while earth and water, in more subtle form, were mercurial in nature…”

Article on Martayanla.com

This discussion will focus on the alchemical principles as illustrated in the engraving here below. This talk will be a precursor to our RCUI spiritual alchemy workshop Nov 9 and 10.

Master Anjala’s Tour of Mystical Italy: Travel Log [With Photos]

Screen Shot 2019-09-27 at 12.46.35 AM
The Veiled Christ, one of many exquisite statues in the Capella Sansevero in Naples.

For those of you who might be interested, here are some email excerpts from Master Anjala’s recent Rosicrucian tour of Sacred Italy. This was a three- week trip sponsored by AMORC that was attended by dozens and dozens of Rosicrucians.  (AMORC sponsors tours in different mystical places throughout the world. Next year’s tour to Egypt (and maybe Morocco?) will be in August and people are already signing up.)

Enjoy!

August 19

I’ve been on a Rosicrucian tour of Sacred Italy since August 9th. Since then I’ve traveled to Assisi, Tivoli, Rome, Assisi again, Venice, Florence, and today I’m in Napoli (aka Naples).  So Many Misadventures!  So Many Pasta meals!  So Many Macedon deserts (read fruit salad, usually with cocomele (watermelon) naranja (orange, sometimes blood orange), kiwi, pineapple, and apple.  Variations on that theme.  So many sights! Macedonia was a Balkan country conquered by the Romans (Italians) in the 2nd century BC, and somehow the country name for fruit salad persists centuries later.)

“At this workshop, you will be trained in the use of the REBALANCING EXERCISE!” stated ESP’s current Master, Soror Anjala. “This exercise isn’t usually shared until you have been a member for many years.  This exercise has many powerful uses.  One Rosicrucian woman used it for a few weeks and totally eliminated a bothersome caffeine addiction.  So this practical physical technique will be shared, along with other more esoteric (hidden) techniques.”

March Updates: Postcards – Alchemy Workshop Planning Volunteers Needed -Get Initiated!

ritual.space

We have a few short news items for the members this March:

Initiations
If you didn’t know already, we are now authorized to do Pronaos initiations. This is an essential ritual for members, and you must apply for it after attending three Pronaos meetings.  A Pronaos initiation teaches you how to ritually behave in a Pronaos, what the rules are, and what a lot of the symbolism means.   The Pronaos initiation is quite different from a degree initiation, which can only be done at a Lodge. This ritual solidifies your relationship to the local group and helps strengthen your bond with the egregore, or spiritual and energic collective, of our group.

Synchronicity and My Alchemical New Year’s Resolution

[Submitted by Frater Kris. Portland, Ore.]

alchemistry.set.3

Ask any Rosicrucian, and they will tell you: once you’ve made up your mind to pursue a specific piece of the great work, the synchronicities start becoming too many to even keep track of! I’ve experienced plenty of synchronicities in my life, but never so many as when I decided to pursue herbal alchemy.
