REQUIRED READING: Why is Reincarnation Important to Study?

weighing.the.heart

Master Anjala took some time out to explain a very important mystical reality as the Rosicrucian Order AMORC has studied it, reincarnation. This is an important lesson that all our members should be acquainted it. Please read on:

This month we are continuing our ongoing discourse on Reincarnation. The next installment will be in Portland on Jan. 19.  This phenomena is extremely important to study, because our methods here are distinct, and get at the heart of what makes Rosicrucians students of spiritual science.

There are many theories of reincarnation, what is it and what laws, if any, govern a cosmic cycle of rebirth.

1.  A basic theory in Rosicrucian teachings is that the full panoply of human lives cannot be experienced in only one human life.  Your life as a city woman doesn’t include the insights of the life as a woman living in a jungle tribe.  Your life as a strong man doesn’t include the experiences of the life of a woman confined to a wheelchair for life, and so forth.

Video Discussion: Medieval Mysticism of the Monks, 2 pm, Jan 19

Heinrich_Suso_Gemälde_1601

For our upcoming online session, we will move back in time. Over the last few months, we have been looking at the works of the alchemists from the 1600s.  Now we will go back to the early part of the late Middle Ages, circa 1325. A Dominican monk by the name of Henry Suso, a follower of the German mystic Meister Eckhart, wrote a book called Das Buch Gennant Seuse which included a woodcut illustration known as the Horologium Sapientiae. We will examine an article from the Rosicrucian Forum, discuss the symbolism of this woodcut, and maybe learn a little bit more about the flavor of the mysticism of the time.

PRONAOS IS LOOKING FOR A NEW, CONVENIENT PORTLAND-AREA MEETING LOCATION, PLEASE PUT OUT YOUR FEELERS.

IMG_4255

We are seeking a better meeting place, and here is what you can help us find:

An accessible place with minimal stairs, or a working elevator if there are stairs.

A place with a sacred “vibe”.  Meaning a place where a lot of meditation and prayer and self-improvement goes on.  Not a place that is used as a hotel or restaurant rental meeting room, for instance; we tried that in the decades past and it didn’t work out.

A place that allows us to use real candles.

A place that is well maintained and cleaned regularly.

How did you hear about the Rosicrucian Order?

1945_Popular_Mechanics_CROP

One from the vault.

Master Anjala has dug up a classic AMORC ad from Popular Mechanics in 1945! It’s fascinating. Over the years we have met many many members who joined AMORC because of the famous ads they use to run in print magazines.  If you have never seen one, check it out the full ad below.

This ad got Master Anjala wondering how you, the members, came to discover the mystical teachings of AMORC.  Read on and let us know in the comments about your story.

Things Bubble Up at Spiritual Alchemy Workshop

Alchemy.groupA word from Master Anjala about last month’s long-awaited Pacific Northwest Spiritual Alchemy Workshop:

Those who attended the Spiritual Alchemy workshop on November 9th and 10th got lots more than the agenda promised!  From the very first minutes, guest speaker Karen Wark dazzled us with scientific evidence for Oneness, then connected quantum entanglement with the way we are connected to the universe.

PHOTOS HERE

She showed us the rebalancing technique, which is taught in the 6th degree, by the way, if you want to research it, and if you attended and weren’t in the 6th degree, you got an advanced technique early!  Frater Clayton had great success with the technique and felt his hands lighting up fiercely with energy.

Video Discussion: The Gnostic Mary, 2 pm, Dec. 15

maria.cropJoin us for the next installment of our new online video discussion group.  This group is live and for members only. If you wish to participate, email us your member number and we will invite you to the event.  You must have a good internet, a laptop with a camera, and a set of headphones with a mic.

In 1617, Michael Maier’s Symbola Aureae Mensae was published with the frontispiece illustration known as Maria Prophetissa. In this illustration, Maria Prophetissa, who may also be known as the Maria of the Gnostic tradition, draws our attention to the alchemical process which appears to be coming to fruition before our eyes. This illustration is robust with alchemical symbolism. For this December’s online discussion group, we will read from an article that examines the symbolism found here in greater detail and learn some of what Maria seeks to impart to us. – Frater Ken, Online Discussion Host

Rosicrucian Festival of Lights, Portland, 2 pm, Dec. 22

diwali-candlesPlease join us for our joyous end of the year winter solstice ceremony. All are welcome to this public ritual.

Parading solemnly with candles, we will acknowledge our part as creatures in the natural world with responsibility for spreading light in the spiritual world.

This ceremony must happen on or near the Winter Solstice, and only once.  This means if you miss it in Portland, it won’t be offered in Wilsonville.  This is a beautiful ceremony that aligns us with the tradition of welcoming greater daylight into the darker days of winter.

Orientation, Neophyte Forum, Initiations: Wilsonville, 2 pm, Dec. 8

Initiations.Temple.

This is another installment in our ongoing Neophyte review series. This will be perfect for some of the many new members we’ve been contacted by recently. These reviews are also good for existing members who could use a refresher.  All of AMORC teachings are laid out in the Neophyte degrees.

We will also hold Pronaos initiations for those members who have requested them.  Any member who attends three convocations in a year may make a written request to the Grand Counselor and receive an initiation.  The Pronaos initiations are a venerable rite that will increase your sense of purpose and bond with the Pronaos. It will help to strengthen our local egregore as we seek to rebuild our temple into a Chapter. Email  nwamorc.Donohue@gmail.com to request this induction.

In your future: Reincarnation Series Continues, Rosicrucian Festival of Lights

reincarnation.paitingDeja vu:  Reincarnations Series Returns Again [and Again and Again]

Last month we started a series of Experiments and Discourses on Reincarnation, and will continue these after upcoming Pronoas Initiations.

Reincarnation is taught in the monographs as a plausible event that a member is not supposed to believe in until an experiment yields proof to that member that reincarnation exists.  There are multiple exercises in the monographs to accomplish this, but in a Pronaos, we have the assistance of our Fraters and Sorors, their psychic talents and skills, to reveal more than is usual at home.  We use guided meditations, music, lights and other techniques to help members get insight into current and past incarnations.
