This month, we are doing an encore edition of last month’s discussion on medieval mysticism for those who could not attend in January.  See below for last month’s description of the event:

For our upcoming online session, we will move back in time. Over the last few months, we have been looking at the works of the alchemists from the 1600s.  Now we will go back to the early part of the late Middle Ages, circa 1325. A Dominican monk by the name of Henry Suso, a follower of the German mystic Meister Eckhart, wrote a book called Das Buch Gennant Seuse which included a woodcut illustration known as the Horologium Sapientiae. We will examine an article from the Rosicrucian Forum, discuss the symbolism of this woodcut, and maybe learn a little bit more about the flavor of the mysticism of the time.

The mere intellectual study and comprehension of the specialized monographs and lessons issued to student members is not sufficient.  Of and by itself, such study is but a third of the work of preparation leading to readiness and worthiness.  The monographs are designed to accomplish two things:

  1. Train the brain and augment the knowledge of the mind regarding fundamental laws and principles leading up to a comprehension of the higher laws;
  2. Give and suggest certain experiments and tests which will consciously and unconsciously develop certain psychic centers in the member that will quicken his or her psychic powers and abilities for more complete mastery and control of natural forces.

THREE DAILY ROSICRUCIAN PRACTICES TO BOOST YOUR ENERGY, HEALTH AND HAPPINESS

If you only do one of these a day, that’s Terrific, mix it up, have fun!  These are not chores, and they do make you feel better and function better!  Don’t stress out, but don’t not do these either!

  1. GREET THE SUN:  Many of the paper monographs that I received as a new member back in the late 70’s had an illustration in them of a man facing the sun, arms stretched wide.  What I did not understand at the time was that  EVERYTHING     in a monograph is chosen to give the student on the path a boost on the way!  The symbols on the cover, on the bottoms of the page, the illustrations and the Exercises all should be done as promptly and often as possible.  That figure facing the rising sun is chanting the vowel sound RA.   Try this for 21 days.  Every morning face the sun and repeat the vowel sound RA however many times suits you.  If possible, do it at full volume, trilling the R as best you can.
  2. MEDITATE FOR FIVE MINUTES before breakfast.  Sit in your sanctum, or where you won’t be bothered, and gently, lovingly, quiet your thoughts.
  3. DO THE OVERALL EXERCISE: If you can spend 10 to 15 minutes daily doing this, I think you’ll be surprised how much better your body starts working.  Below is One way to do the Overall Exercise.  Please seek out the audio clips and videos on the Rosicrucian Community site for more detailed instruction.  This exercise helps heal both you and the world.

This month’s convocation in Portland will be packed with important exercises and information.  The convocation discourse will be a continuation of our reincarnation series. Next, we will review the second Neophyte Monograph. This is a review of some of the most foundational concepts in AMORC. So, this is a wonderful opportunity for new members and members who are returning to their studies after a long break.

After a brief break, we will return for a short open class on the seven major Vowel Sounds.  This public class is excellent for friends who might be interested in AMORC. This was by far the most popular exercise at last Nov’s Alchemy Workshop.  Please bring a seeker you know. It should not disappoint.

Master Anjala took some time out to explain a very important mystical reality as the Rosicrucian Order AMORC has studied it, reincarnation. This is an important lesson that all our members should be acquainted it. Please read on:

This month we are continuing our ongoing discourse on Reincarnation. The next installment will be in Portland on Jan. 19.  This phenomena is extremely important to study, because our methods here are distinct, and get at the heart of what makes Rosicrucians students of spiritual science.

There are many theories of reincarnation, what is it and what laws, if any, govern a cosmic cycle of rebirth.

1.  A basic theory in Rosicrucian teachings is that the full panoply of human lives cannot be experienced in only one human life.  Your life as a city woman doesn’t include the insights of the life as a woman living in a jungle tribe.  Your life as a strong man doesn’t include the experiences of the life of a woman confined to a wheelchair for life, and so forth.

This month’s convocation in Wilsonville will go over the functions, rituals, and responsibilities of your local AMORC group, the Enneadic Star Pronaos. This is a member’s only discussion.  Afterward, we will have a Council of Solace meditation for healing and world peace.  All are welcome to attend this group meditation.  We will then break for refreshments and social time.  This will be followed by the initiation of one of our local members. Other members are encouraged to attend as witnesses.

We are seeking a better meeting place, and here is what you can help us find:

An accessible place with minimal stairs, or a working elevator if there are stairs.

A place with a sacred “vibe”.  Meaning a place where a lot of meditation and prayer and self-improvement goes on.  Not a place that is used as a hotel or restaurant rental meeting room, for instance; we tried that in the decades past and it didn’t work out.

A place that allows us to use real candles.

A place that is well maintained and cleaned regularly.
