Ritual Reminder: UPDATED: New Year Ceremony for Rosicrucian year 3372, Portland, 2 pm, 3/24/19. Important Download available.

sphinx-1000x675-1000x640On Sunday, March 24, join us for our annual New Year ceremony and the symbolic feast.  Welcome in this time of renewal and rebirth by reconnecting with members and enjoying the company of fellow initiates. The Grand Lodge considers the New Year ceremony to be mandatory for members. We highly encourage you to attend the Pronaos event or conduct the ritual at home (details below) so that you receive the spiritual benefits of this spring equinox ceremony. At the Kenton ritual, we will share the history of the order, as we partake in a symbolic alchemical meal representing the four elements.

It’s our goal for 3372 to upgrade the local group from a pronaos to a chapter. That will allow us to do a lot more to support the members and will open up new officer positions and a host of new rituals that we can perform at convocation. All we have to do is have 30 members show up to at least three convocations this year! So, the New Year ritual is a great way for you to come and support the group and help us move closer to our goal of expanding the local organization.

If you cannot get to the pronaos, please conduct the following meditation in private on the Equinox/Full Moon on March 20.

Synchronicity and My Alchemical New Year’s Resolution

[Submitted by Frater Kris. Portland, Ore.]

alchemistry.set.3

Ask any Rosicrucian, and they will tell you: once you’ve made up your mind to pursue a specific piece of the great work, the synchronicities start becoming too many to even keep track of! I’ve experienced plenty of synchronicities in my life, but never so many as when I decided to pursue herbal alchemy.

Overall Exercise draws Rosicrucians for meditation, visualization, snacks

IMG_0296If you were unable to make it to our last open class, we’re sad to say; you missed out on a great time.

On Sunday, Jan. 27. about two dozen Rosicrucians and half a dozen inquirers gathered at the Kenton Masonic Lodge in Portland for public teaching on the Overall Exercise visualization.

We usually hold a members-only ritual (convocation) on every other Sunday of the month. But in January we held two rare public teachings on fundamental Rosicrucian mystical practices.  Earlier that month we had an open class on the intonation of the Vowel Sounds at our Wilsonville ritual location. The good news is that if you missed it, these classes have been so popular we’ll probably have more in the coming year.

At the Kenton event, we gathered in the library among the dusty tomes of Masonic rituals and the exotic artifacts of that organization. Typically, we’d have events in the main temple, but because of a renovation project, that area was not entirely mystical feeling. But the library had a very venerable and cozy quality to it.

What is Rosicrucianism, AMORC and the ESP?

Our tradition weaves through many ancient movements including the hermetic schools of Egypt and the Essences of Palestine. [Image from Sacred History of the Rosicrucians. See below.]
For those of you who are just starting to learn about Rosicrucianism, here is a little more about who we are. We are the Enneadic Star Pronaos (ESP), a local membership group preserving and transmitting the Rosicrucian tradition of the Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC), here in Portland, Ore.

Rosicrucians are syncretistic and metaphysical societies that study a wide variety of subjects such as meditation, inner alchemy, telepathy, and energetic healing– however, we are not merely involved in a grab bag of esoteric novelties. We teach that these disciplines are practical applications of an underlying Natural Law that determines the operations of the universe. Study of Natural Law, with a rigorous grounding in ethics and scholarship, is the core pursuit of the order. We seek self-knowledge and betterment for humanity in a way that takes us into the profound spiritual reality beneath the visible phenomena of the physical world. Members Say What They Like Most About AMORC, Pronaos (Survey Results)

group.amorc.photo
Grand Masters of two countries plus the Imperator, join members at a gala dinner during the 2016 Rosicrucian tour of Eygpt.

Over the last month and a half local AMORC members have been responding to our online survey, and now the results are in.

Thank you to all who took the time to complete the online form or for speaking with me over the phone. The feedback we got is invaluable. You helped us to see what is most important to you as a spiritual seeker and as a member of AMORC. [You can still take the survey here.]

So, what did everyone say?

To date, 42 members responded to the survey. Most of them were members who have not attended convocation in 6 months or more. More than, anything else those who answered the call indicated that a sense of community is the most important single quality that ESP can provide. Public Class on The Overall Exercise Jan. 27, in Portland

overalexceriseOn Jan. 27th, the Enneadic Star Pronaos will conduct a class on the Rosicrucian Overall Exercise as practiced by the Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC).

The Overall Exercise is a term used for a foundational meditation technique. This is a basic visualization in which the body is charged with light and cosmic energy. The practice is incorporated into many of the more advanced practices taught by AMORC.

It’s often recommended that you practice the Overall Exercise each morning or each evening before bed. The practice is often coupled with intoning of the Vowel Sounds and with the Charging of Water Exercise.

This class is highly recommended for new members and for long-time members who want to renew or reinvigorate their practice. If you are simply interested in learning more about AMORC teachings and practices, this is a great way to start.

Curious About Rosicrucian Mystical Practices? Come to Public Vowel Sounds Class

hyroglyphs.vowel.soundsThe Enneadic Star Pronaos will hold a class on the Rosicrucian vowel sounds, on Sunday, January 13. The event is a rare teaching that is entirely open to the public. We’re very excited about it.

The event will be great for people who want to learn more about Rosicrucian mystical techniques and a good way for our current members to practice in a group and connect with others.

We’re Into the Group Thing

We encourage all to attend. Rosicrucian techniques are powerful, and they can have a greater impact when practiced in a group.  The vibratory energy released the vowel sounds in a group is something everyone should experiences. Many of us have had incredible experiences intoning vowels sounds at Rosicrucians convocations, seminars or other large gatherings of Rosicrucians.
