This month we have an exciting pairing of a convocation and an open class on visualization. The first part of the event will be the member-only ritual. The discourse will be on Creating Your Future by H.S. Lewis. Convocation will be followed by a public class on visualization. We will go over a simple step-by-step method for manifesting the things we want in life. We’ll also talk about discerning our desired and if our wants are in alignment with the Cosmic.

New Year’s Vision: Rebuilding Our Wonderful Temple

The Spring Equinox on March 20 welcomed in the Rosicrucian New Year 3372 which commemorates the birth of Pharaoh Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), the ancient Egyptian pharaoh who is the spiritual founder of our order.
This new year is a very exciting time for AMORC members here in Oregon/Southwest Washington and for the Enneadic Star Pronaos. We are embarking on an ambitious new project, and we want your help!
Our vision is to grow the local group from a Pronaos to a Chapter! A Chapter is a much larger group that brings it with new rituals, new officer positions, and new services for attending members. To create a Chapter we will need more members to attend convocation. How many? Well, we’ll have to have 30 members in attendance at a convocation, at least three times this year. It’s an ambitious goal. But it’s one of the best ways we can better serve you, the members, initiates, and seekers of this region.

March Updates: Postcards – Alchemy Workshop Planning Volunteers Needed -Get Initiated!

We have a few short news items for the members this March:
Initiations
If you didn’t know already, we are now authorized to do Pronaos initiations. This is an essential ritual for members, and you must apply for it after attending three Pronaos meetings. A Pronaos initiation teaches you how to ritually behave in a Pronaos, what the rules are, and what a lot of the symbolism means. The Pronaos initiation is quite different from a degree initiation, which can only be done at a Lodge. This ritual solidifies your relationship to the local group and helps strengthen your bond with the egregore, or spiritual and energic collective, of our group.
Ritual Reminder: UPDATED: New Year Ceremony for Rosicrucian year 3372, Portland, 2 pm, 3/24/19. Important Download available.
On Sunday, March 24, join us for our annual New Year ceremony and the symbolic feast. Welcome in this time of renewal and rebirth by reconnecting with members and enjoying the company of fellow initiates. The Grand Lodge considers the New Year ceremony to be mandatory for members. We highly encourage you to attend the Pronaos event or conduct the ritual at home (details below) so that you receive the spiritual benefits of this spring equinox ceremony. At the Kenton ritual, we will share the history of the order, as we partake in a symbolic alchemical meal representing the four elements.
It’s our goal for 3372 to upgrade the local group from a pronaos to a chapter. That will allow us to do a lot more to support the members and will open up new officer positions and a host of new rituals that we can perform at convocation. All we have to do is have 30 members show up to at least three convocations this year! So, the New Year ritual is a great way for you to come and support the group and help us move closer to our goal of expanding the local organization.
If you cannot get to the pronaos, please conduct the following meditation in private on the Equinox/Full Moon on March 20.
Ritual Reminder: Convocation, Introduction to the Pronaos, Initiations, Wilsonville, 2 pm 3/10/19
Sunday, March 10, we’ll have convocation ritual and an introduction into what your pronaos is and how it works. You’ll learn key details about the rituals, the temple space, and symbols used in during convocation. You will get to understand what the group does for the members and what the rules are for the meetings (no discussing of politics or business promotion, for example). If you are new to AMORC or have never been to gather of the local group, this will be a good ritual for you to attend. Convocation is a members-only ritual.
Ritual Reminder: Convocation Kenton Lodge, 2 pm 2/24/19

Sunday, Feb. 24, we’ll have convocation ritual and a lecture on Discourse on Dreams and Messages from the Unconscious from the Rosicrucian teachings of AMORC. Convocation is a members-only ritual.

Synchronicity and My Alchemical New Year’s Resolution
[Submitted by Frater Kris. Portland, Ore.]

Ask any Rosicrucian, and they will tell you: once you’ve made up your mind to pursue a specific piece of the great work, the synchronicities start becoming too many to even keep track of! I’ve experienced plenty of synchronicities in my life, but never so many as when I decided to pursue herbal alchemy.

Overall Exercise draws Rosicrucians for meditation, visualization, snacks
If you were unable to make it to our last open class, we’re sad to say; you missed out on a great time.
On Sunday, Jan. 27. about two dozen Rosicrucians and half a dozen inquirers gathered at the Kenton Masonic Lodge in Portland for public teaching on the Overall Exercise visualization.
We usually hold a members-only ritual (convocation) on every other Sunday of the month. But in January we held two rare public teachings on fundamental Rosicrucian mystical practices. Earlier that month we had an open class on the intonation of the Vowel Sounds at our Wilsonville ritual location. The good news is that if you missed it, these classes have been so popular we’ll probably have more in the coming year.
At the Kenton event, we gathered in the library among the dusty tomes of Masonic rituals and the exotic artifacts of that organization. Typically, we’d have events in the main temple, but because of a renovation project, that area was not entirely mystical feeling. But the library had a very venerable and cozy quality to it.

What is Rosicrucianism, AMORC and the ESP?

Rosicrucians are syncretistic and metaphysical societies that study a wide variety of subjects such as meditation, inner alchemy, telepathy, and energetic healing– however, we are not merely involved in a grab bag of esoteric novelties. We teach that these disciplines are practical applications of an underlying Natural Law that determines the operations of the universe. Study of Natural Law, with a rigorous grounding in ethics and scholarship, is the core pursuit of the order. We seek self-knowledge and betterment for humanity in a way that takes us into the profound spiritual reality beneath the visible phenomena of the physical world.
